Christine ALLAN de LAVENNE
Tech Policy & Digital Trust Advisor
SIDE Law & Advisory
About me
Christine Allan de Lavenne is American and French. She is an attorney at the Paris Bar and the founder of SIDE Law & Advisory in Paris and Silicon Valley. With 25+ years in technology, media and human rights law, a career that began in UNESCO's Human Rights Division, she advises technology companies, public institutions, academic initiatives and civil-society organizations on information integrity, technology policy, AI governance, and digital trust. She has long argued that information manipulation takes a heavy human rights toll by misrepresenting Freedom of Expression to overall critically violate Freedom of Thought and should therefore carry real legal consequences: at EU DisinfoLab's 2024 conference in Riga she called for collaborative work on making FIMI a standalone criminal offence, and at the 2025 summit in Ljubljana she examined how far the American and European conceptions of freedom of expression diverge and what that means for accountability. She serves on and advises boards and initiatives on digital trust and information integrity, including EU DisinfoLab. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Everyone.AI, a non-profit promoting safe AI for youth, where she currently coordinates a policy white paper on “AI & Youth: Legal Responses to Identified Risks”.
