About me
Kirsten Wild is a PhD candidate and researcher at CEREGE, Poitiers, specialising in information and cognitive dimensions of contemporary conflict. Her doctoral research develops a systemic, communication-based reading of conflictuality, drawing on Thierry Burkhard's triptych of compétition, contestation and affrontement to analyse how information warfare and cognitive warfare unfold not as a linear transmission of intent, but as a process of meaning constituted at the point of reception. Her work examines strategic competition, influence operations, and state responses to information threats through this framework. Prior to entering academia, she served as an officer in the German Armed Forces in intelligence as well as in the cyber and information domains.
